I started A Little Detour because I love going for long walks and seem to do my best thinking/writing when my feet are moving rhythmically in front of each other. I wound up with more essays than I had time (or energy) to pitch and wanted a way to share what I was working on with readers.

I want to keep A Little Detour fun to write and to read so it will be a mix of essays on whatever I’m thinking about that week. Sometimes that might be reading or writing, other times it might be animals and the environment. I’ll also include updates about my book Under the Henfluence, events, and other work I’ve published. It’s a one-stop-shop!

If you sign up to get emails from A Little Detour you’ll get posts as soon as they go out so you never miss a thing.

Paid subscriptions help support my work here and at large! For less than the price of a small latte with oat milk, you can get access to the full archive of past essays and occasional, subscriber-only posts.

Thanks for going on a little detour with me.
